Ultrasound

Ultrasound has been used since the 1940s. Ultrasound utilizes a round-headed wand or probe that is put in direct contact with the patient’s skin. The sound waves passing through the skin cause the tissues to vibrate thereby heating the local tissue. Ultrasound has also been shown to cause increases in tissue relaxation, local blood flow, and scar tissue breakdown. This can be used to help reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation, and, according to some studies, promote bone fracture healing.

Interferential Therapy

Interferential Current Therapy (IFC) is a noninvasive therapy using minute electrical pulses indicated for the symptomatic relief from, and management of, chronic intractable pain and post-surgical and post-trauma acute pain. It provides a safe and effective alternative to pharmacological approaches to pain control. IFC has minimal side effects and is non-addictive. Frequencies produced by the IFC have been proven to stimulate endorphins, the body’s natural pain killers. This can help to create a self-healing process without the need to for medications.

Intersegmental traction

Intersegmental traction helps by increasing motion which stretches the joints of the spine and improves movement. This is accomplished by mobilizing the spinal column while simultaneously stretching the connecting muscles and spinal ligaments.
